On 9 and 10 October 2025, the STEAME Teacher Academy project organised a two-day European Workshop and Round Table Event at Doukas School in Athens, Greece. The event brought together educators, trainers, researchers, and project partners to explore practical approaches for implementing STEAME education and to strengthen the role of teachers as facilitators of interdisciplinary, project-based learning. The programme opened with an introduction to the STEAME Academy project, STEAME Learning Spaces, and the European Federation of STEAME Teacher Facilitators Academies by the project coordinator, Prof. Gregoris Makrides.
During the two days, participants attended a rich programme of parallel workshops focusing on key STEAME Teacher Facilitator modules. The sessions covered STEAME Project-Based Learning, Learning & Creativity Plans, the Interactive STEAME Process, Entrepreneurial Mindset, External Collaboration and Networking, Facilitation of Feedback in Schools, and Sustaining and Improving the STEAME Process. The workshops were delivered by trainers from partner organisations across Europe and provided participants with practical tools, methodologies, and examples to support the integration of STEAME approaches in school education.
The event concluded with a Round Table on STEAME Education at the DAIS Theatre, moderated by Gregoris Makrides and Milena Kolena, offering participants the opportunity to reflect on the workshop outcomes, exchange experiences, and discuss the future development of STEAME education in Europe. Hosted by Doukas School, the Athens event contributed to the wider dissemination and implementation of the STEAME Teacher Academy results, while supporting educators in their professional development and their pathway towards STEAME Teacher Facilitator certification.
